Our Values
Education has been central to both of our lives, and we will devote ourselves to providing the best possible education to our child. Always planning ahead, Seth's parents have already started a college fund, which we will soon begin adding to!
We were both raised in spiritual traditions. Jerry is Christian and Seth is Jewish. We have been exploring both church and synagogue communities in Berkeley. We plan to join one with our child in order to help him or her feel part of a spiritual community; to cultivate a sense of humane ethics; to appreciate the sacredness of life; and to realize that he or she is part of a much greater whole.
Giving back to our community has enriched our lives and we hope that our child will also understand the importance of volunteering. We have both spent many hours visiting seniors, cooking food for the homeless, and registering people to vote. We plan to certify our dog, Fannie, as a "therapy dog," so we can take her on visits to children's hospitals and homes for the elderly. Volunteerism will definitely be something we share with our child.
