Our Relationship

We are a loving, committed couple who have been together for 11 years. Each of us feels the other is our best friend and confidante, a partner to love and support. Five years ago we celebrated our bond with a commitment ceremony, with our family and friends, marrying in a beautiful fuchsia garden. We've been preparing for several years to begin our family and decided that adoption is the best path for us.

We both have found work that we find very fulfilling, but we also enjoy an active life away from the office. Jerry loves to spend time gardening, while Seth has always loved cooking. Every Saturday morning, we shop at our local organic farmers market to supplement Jerry's homegrown vegetables. Seth uses these beautiful veggies to cook for the week. Family meals are very important to us, and we discuss our days' events with each other every night over dinner. On weekends, we like to have friends over, go out to a neighborhood theater, or take our dog for a long hike along the bay or through the hills. While we're very active, at heart we're homebodies. We like to hang out on the sofa or in the garden, with our pets, talking, watching movies or reading books.

Besides these day-to-day activities, we also enjoy travel. We spend the holidays each year in Texas, where Jerry's family lives. We go on a yearly vacation with Seth's family in places like Mexico, Costa Rica and the Caribbean. Seth's family is scattered from Connecticut, where he grew up, to Chicago and the San Francisco Bay Area. His parents are considering retiring in California to be closer to family.
